    I need to determine the ammount of memory that is being alloted during
a program's execution for data structures. The way I was thinking of was 
executing an 'avail' to find the ammount of storage being used while the 
program is executing and subtracting the code size as given by ln. Will 
this work? The program doesn't open the graphics library or anything like
that. Or is there anyway to directly determine heap size during program
execution?
