After talking with CBM i found out that the sidecar isn't designed to handle being passed through. Supposedly, the timing involved with the sidecar is too critical to handle anything else on the bus. So, I spent the money on memory and a SCSI harddrive and I only use the sidecar when I really need it which isn't that often.
