Possibly your serial problem is that the SIO device files in the /dev
directory are screwed up, or not compatible because of the regression
in Aegis from 9.7.2 to 9.7.1, I  don't know whether that would effect
the situation or not. Anyway, if you can get 9.7.1 `node_data/dev
sio files from a release tape, or from another machine at your site,
try replacing the existing ones with another version. Or, just list
different copies of the /dev/sio* files and see if they have the same
number of bytes, that's usually a good way to compare files.
