I'm one of them, and I can't remember why I didn't post a summary here. Apple did indeed get roasted by the developers. Barney Stone was the ringleader. Apple developers took the opportunity to blast Apple for everything that they (Apple) had done wrong with the II line, ranging from the hardware specs of the IIgs to the II line marketing. There is some doubt as to whether or not this did any good. After all, the Apple people there were from the Apple II section and probably believe in the Apple II as firmly as any of us. The question now is to see if they can make Corporate Apple see things their/our way. In any case, it WAS a great opportunity for people to get things off their chests and to make sure Apple knew about their gripes. Other highlights: o Beagle Bros divulged TimeOut and AppleWorks technical info o ProDev showed their awesome DDT card (IIe only right now) o A new graphics demo written by a French pirate group which really shows off the GS's graphics abilities floated around o Bill Mensch shared his vision of the 65xxx and the Apple II o Laser showed a prototype IIgs clone (VERY prototype) Amusing anecdote: The world's best IIgs game programmers gathered together with a large quantity of alcohol to produce a IIgs version of the classic Bilestoad. Unfortunately the alcohol flowed so freely that they somehow got the idea to do the game in lo-res because super hi-res was too difficult. The last anyone saw of it was a bunch of lo-res dots scrolling around on the screen. International Visitors: attendees were present from Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, and even the Soviet Union. It was great fun meeting people like Roger Wagner, Barney Stone, Bob Sander- Cederlof, Ross Lambert, Eric Mueller, Jay Jennings... the list goes on and on. From the pizza party the first night (they severely underestimated the demand for pizza) to the ball game on the closing night to the after-hours party in the dorms that raged into Sunday morning, it was a blast. /\ Jerry Kindall JerryK@cup.portal.com \/ Death to COBOL GEnie: A2.JERRY ALink: A2 Jerry
