Over the past three years I've had a number of floppies with bad sectors. In all of the cases TOS reported less than the expected number of free space after a desktop format. While it's true that it didn't say "XXX BAD SECTORS FOUND" the <358K available was a big tipoff. I'm not a programmer, but common sense tells me that TOS *did* know about the bad sectors. -=->G<-=-
