It is true, nonetheless. Both customer service, who checked around for four
days and the folks in Roseville, who tried searching for the part number I
gave them could find any cross-reference or any information at all. I got
some info from a company that provides service for HP systems but no manuals.

I have a subassembly, a PC board, # 09855-69886, which is listed as a
"winchester controller." It was manufactured for HP in mid-1984. It is still
available from HP but no information about the part is available from HP.
