It is currently shipping with a six to eight week backlog (not uncommon for a new feature). The price for this part through the Micro Order Center is $477 when purchased with a system and $795 when purchased separately. The 55SX, like the co-processor, is running on a six to eight week backlog. The MOC has placed orders for this unit. Of the units we've ordered, we received three just last week, one from a 6/15 order, one from a 6/20 order and one from a 7/19 order. We were told last week that the IBM dock now has some SX's in stock and delivery times should improve dramatically. In any event, it is highly unlikely that it will take 6 months for a 55SX to be delivered. One note, the MOC orders and receives equipment from a different dock than the local IBM. This means that departmental orders, which are placed directly through IBM are subject to different stock and delivery schedules. If you are placing a departmental order, your best information for delivery times is Tim Wilkinson with IBM (237-5721).
