This is a (relatively) new MS- DOS compatible operating system by Digital Research, Inc., being marketed by 2001 Sales (and possibly others?). Things that make this OS interesting are: * A standard graphical user interface (GEM), * Partitions up to 512Mb, * Speed, * A standard BASIC pseudo-compiler (TRUEBasic). I have not had the opportunity to see this OS yet, but I am **very** inter- ested in the features mentioned above. What I am curious about, however, are features such as: * Compatibility with undocumented features (will my PD/shareware library suffer?) * Ability to modify config on-the-fly (as EDCONFIG.SYS does, but in a standard way?) * The quality of the TRUEBasic package (has it been grafted onto EZ-DOS, or does it provide good access to the GUI and OS?) * Are current development tools going to work well in the new environment? (I am interested both in general and also in specific cases like JPI Modula-2, the environment I prefer.) If anyone has had experience with EZ-DOS, please comment on it, either to the net or directly to me. If this topic has already been discussed, where may I get some (or all) of the information? If not, and there is interest, I would be willing to summarize the information and post it to this group. Tim Larson, ODX@PSUVM.BITNET
