These DO make great backup drives. There ARE some caveats: 1. There are reports starting to surface that these units are not quite so reliable when used in continuous duty, e.g. as a primary drive. 2. The media should be removed when not in use. Especially in a power-off condition, dust can enter into and settle on the platter much more readily than if it is stored in its plastic case. Those warning notwithstanding, the drives are excellent. They represent my current backup medium of choice for fixed disks < 200MB. --scott -- Scott Truesdell
