     Saw an ad for the PLI 3.5" optical drive in the window of 
Computerware in Palo Alto.  This unit is supposedly capable of 
storing about 500MB on an erasable medium at a cost of "$0.70 per
megabyte".  Unfortunately, the store staff had no idea what the
ad referred to, and couldn't even tell me if the price was for the
drive or the medium.  So they removed the ad from the window.

     Better information would be helpful.
