DA menuz (hierDA) is the "culprit" here.  This is a feature of the cdev that
can be turned off (if you so like) from the Control Panel DA.  Or, you can
modify this feature's action from the choices in the cdev and make it only
"kick in" when the shift key is also held down along with the command key.

Perhaps it would be wise to take at least a cursory look at the documentation
of the "mess of CDEVS & INITs" that you have in your System Folder before
letting them rum amuck in your Mac's RAM....   ;-)
