It has a list price of $2195 and backups at a rate of 5 to 6 megabytes per minute on my Mac II & IIx. It comes with it's own software or can be used with the very powerful archive program from Dantz software called "Retrospect". I have been using an Archive drive on my HP Vectra CPU running Xenix for the last year. It has behaved flawlessly in that time. I expect the same from their Mac unit. Mel Shear
