	Why does a Tool in MPW C 2.02 execute faster than an application?

	I have compiled the Whetstone and the Dhrystone benchmarks
	on a MacII and I got the following results:

	Dhrystones/s	3571	(TOOL)
	  - " -    	3333	(Application)

	Whetstones/s	840 000 (TOOL)
	  - " _		671 000 (Application)
	(Compiler settings: -mc68020 -mc68881 -elems881 -p)

	The Whetstones compiled in MPW Pascal shows no differens
	between a Tool and an application!
