Lines: 22 My friend Steve just got one of these, it's a fully-loaded DS7540 workstation with color monitor and 150MB (?) disk. Also floppy drive and cartridge tape drive. He is not able to do anything with the floppy drive---although he has a stack of disks they don't load, system complains "disk recalibration error" and the head won't move. We suspect bad floppy drive. He is able to boot Unix off of a tape, this seems to install a "mini-root" environment on the hard drive. What to do next? is the question. He'd like to hear from anyone who has a system like this, in part to ask questions like "Is this machine any good?". OK to reply to me; I'll forward responses.
