Greets, all. I'm a junior in high school interested in the NeXT. I recently attended a Unix/Xenix meeting where I first "met" the personal mainframe. Ok, I'm impressed out of my senses - but I want to know more. Ok, first question... I have been told that there Will Soon Be a color video option for the NeXT. How soon? And what kind of modifications will be necessary to a b/w NeXT to have color? And at what cost? (Rough estimates) Maybe I'm being green-screen-retentive, but is there any way to *kill* the GUI? To tear it all down and just have text? I probably won't do that very often, but it would be reassuring to have the power. :) I've also heard that the NeXT will be able to (can?) run Mac wares. Nice, but is it true? And how will I stick the 3.5s into an optical drive? Data transfer works for public domain, yes, but what about commercial software? Is it practical to buy a NeXT now (within the next year), or should I wait for better versions? Also, if anyone has any text information from NeXT, Inc. or tech data for the not-yet initiated, feel free to dump it in my mailbox here at sugar. Thanks, -Jason Asbahr
