Sorry, but the 1000 family are not AT-compatible (nor were they intended),
and therefore do not have the dual-speed (actually three data rates) floppy
disk controller required to work with 1.2 Meg (500 Kbit/sec, 360 RPM) and
the older 360K capacity (250 Kbit/sec, 300 RPM or the low cap emulation
speed on a 1.2 meg drive of 300 Kbit/sec, 360 RPM) drives.

In addition, 1.44 Meg 3.5" drives cannot be used, although these will format
and work in the 720K mode (same rotational speed as 1.44 Meg).
