I was given a Model II today with the comment 'The monitor doesn't work'. What I found on opening the cover was that the fuse in the power supply had been wrapped with foil and that the only things that work are AC operated (fan, disk motor, CRT heater). I'd like to see if it's worth fixing (I've used smaller and slower machines) but I'd rather do it cheaply. ********* And it's not the oldest computer here - anyone else have a BYTE-8 ? (with rows and rows of toggle switches and LEDs - and about 2K of memory :-) ********* I still have in my collection a antique circa 1975 RCA engineer's 1802 evaluation cpu board set. It used 256 bytes of memory, and LED's and toggle switches, and a manual push button clock. ******************** USnail: John Carter, AT&T, 401 W. The opinions are mine. *********************************************************************** Earl W. Bollinger @
