This one caught me by surprise. I've been programming in the Bourne shell for a long time, and I never saw this before. Of course, I haven't seen the need to reread the manual for quite a while, so I could have easily missed it. Is this standard in System V.2? V.3? Maybe it's just a SunOS-ism?
