The Everex works great with everex software (evtar, evbackup), but I have never been able to get it to work with backup/restore without io errors and incomplete backups. (This particular drive /controller is not recognized when one tries to install it as mkdev tape, it requires special drivers from everex.) One thing I do like about the drive, it streams when being driven by the everex software. When driven by Xenix386 2.3.2, it stop/starts to death. Does anyone have a 60 (150 Mbyte) cartridge tape drive that streams when being driven by standard SCO Xenix drivers when using backup/restore? How do I get it? Bill Pearson
