Subject: setting a root window background picture

Hi:
	What are some of the ways for taking an X11 bitmap file and using
that as my root window background picture?  I looked at xsetroot, but the
man page says that it will use the bitmap to "tile" the background, which
is not what I want.  There used to be a program called xback for x10, but
that used the authors own bitmap format.  I know there must be something
out there that does what I want.  I have a DECstation3100 running DECwindows.
