I currently have:
 (setq gnus-use-generic-from "bu-pub.bu.edu")  ;; use the server not the w/s
 (setq gnus-use-generic-path "bu-cs!bu-pub")   ;; aim path at us for dumb sites

This doesn't seem to work.  Why?  Damfino.
