Texas CS Dept., Austin, Texas Lines: 27 There is a newsgroup called pubnet.nixpub which lists public access unix machines around the country, along with pertinent information about what services they provide and how much (if any) they charge. It is updated periodically; the current version has one entry for Pittsburgh: 06/07 412-431-8649 eklektik Pittsburg PA 3/12 24 UNIX PC- SYSV - UNaXcess BBS, new system - donation requested for shell, login: bbs for BBS, uucp-mail, limited Usenet news feeds. Gaming SIGS. Contact: ...!gatech!emoryu1!eklektik!anthony The first line is the date this entry was last updated, the phone number of the system, the name of the system, the location, the baud rates it supports (300/1200) and the hours of operation (24/day). The rest indicates that the system provides mail, limited news, and some general bbs services. Apparently, they would like some money if you plan to use the unix shell (I assume this means for mail and news as well, but not for local bbs stuff). To contact the sysop (system operator) by email from the Internet, you can try gatech!emoryu1!elkeltik!anthony@uunet.uu.net, although since gatech (Georgia Tech) is an internet site, emoryu1!ekliktik!anthony@gatech.edu would probably work as well.
