Um. UUNET is not the name of a network. Uunet is the name of a very well known site that you can pay to get uucp connections to and other services as well. They are a non-profit organization and charge reasonable rates. Now, as for the question I think you are asking, there is a registry of uucp sites, called the "Uucp Mapping Project", and they post their registery in comp.mail.maps. Look there for both the maps and a file that explains what is in the maps. If there is nothing in that newsgroup, your system either doesn't get that group or the system squirrels the maps away somewhere special.
