Is that so?  It's been a long time since you've gone to church. Obviously.  The
one I go to (not Catholic) in fact does hold the view that people are
responsible for their own actions.  Isn't that great?  And forgiveness is not
just a way to avoid that responsibility.

nurse, teacher?  I'd be interested in knowing from where you obtained your
