Please don't ask me why I want to go to LA. I know that many of you are/were graduated students at one the institutions. I would appreciate if you would share you valuable experience and opinions regarding the program, the department and the school with me. I have a list of questions which, some of them, I've already had answers from the schools and departments. But, I would like to hear from you as a student. Here is the list: 1. What is the major research area within the department? i.e. OS, database, AI, neural networks ... 2. Are there any GA/TA/RA available for MS candidate? In other words, are these assitantship only available to PhD candidate? 3. What are the admission requirements? Among GRE scores, GPA, and recommendations, which one of them or combination of them is more important in the selection process. What GRE test scores do I need? Extra-curricular activities? 4. What kind of research/computing environment is available? 5. How does your institute distinct from others? 6. If you were to administrate the program in the department, what are the areas which you would definitely improve. 7. If you were to start your graduate study over again (that would be a horrible nightmare to most of you), would you still pick the one you are in. Why? Thanks for the "time and space."
