Appendix D of that tome contains a different sort of algorithm for finding and displaying the set. I thought it looked interesting, and I sat down to try it. I have the code entered, but I'm having the darnest time trying to figure out good values for the handful of parameters the routines require. The authors, unfortunately, are not always very helpful in giving examples and suggested values to go with their code. Can anyone help me out by suggesting some "nice" values for the parameters? (Specifically, maxiter, delta, recur, and overflow. Note that I am not yet interested in areas of the set to look at; that's a distant concern.) Many thanks.
