I've just started reading these two groups and I've just bought a synth - a Yamaha PSS680 (flames > /dev/null - the cashola is in short supply right now). What I want to do is to sequence the PSS-680 from a PC (specifically a 10MHz Turbo-AT(286) clone. What hardware and software do I need? I have no great need to do anything ut sequence (I don't play the black and white keyboard too well) so I need to input from score so a score-type display would be ideal. Public domain for the software would be nice but not mandatory. Warning: The limit of my knowledge of midi and synths extends to their spelling and no further :-). Incidentally, the PSS-680 is 16 midi-channel and is multi-timbral if that info is of any use.
