Sci, Univ. of Illinois (Report # UIUCDCS-R-86-1246) which is very nice introduction to the subject. Also you might want to get a copy of the book "Parallel and Distributed Computation" by Bertsekas and Tsitsiklis/ Prentice Hall 1989. I believe that books and papers by Jim Ortega (U. of Virginia?) are relevant to your query.
