The problem is that my production of real-work graphics is limited to using GEM Draw. :-( I can coerce GEM into producing a file of PS commands complete with a %%BoundingBox line; but they don't work when I include them in a document with psfig. Neither psfig nor dvips complained about anything---but the printer flushed the job! I've done some of the obvious things: removing the ^D of course; extracting the GEM-produced prolog into another file and loading it with the -h option of dvips. This gets me to the point where the printer doesn't flush the job, but the included figure doesn't show and also the page is blank above the spot where the figure should be. I'm hoping some reader in this group has already hit this problem and has a canned-up solution? (Other than buying a Mac---that's not in the budget this year!) ---- Fritz Whittington Texas Instruments, Incorporated I don't even claim these opinions myself!
