Being a proud new owner of a S-VHS VCR, I wonder +if someone could post or mail me the procedure. Beside the price difference, +I have problems *finding* S-VHS tape in my small town. + +Also, what does anyone think about the future of LD vidio (laser disc). +I ask because my parents (foolishly?) bought a Sony CD-CDV-LD player and +I wondered if there is any future in LD. + +I must add that I did see a movie they had, and with the 425 scan line +resolution and digital color it was *impressive*. + You're going to need to get a S-VHS tape and compare it closely with a VHS tape. You'll find a hole on the bottom that is there on the S-VHS tape. Make s pencil rubbing of the back of the S-VHS tape, outline the crucial boundaries, and put it over the VHS tape in the same position. Mark the spot with a marker. Take the tape apart (be very careful to keep all pieces in tsame places. Very remove tape, and drill hole where your mark is (same diameter) and make sure ALL burrs and pieces of plastic have been removed. Reassemble tape, and pop it in. That's the safest way. You could drill the tape upside down, taking EXTREME care (in other words, I wouldn't chance it) to NOT get any shavings lost inside the tape case. If these granules, or pieces touch your tape, or heads, you're history. Hope that helps. Good luck.
