I am trying to locate an LA supplier for the MAR6 wideband Monolithic Microwave Intergrated Circuit by Mini-Circuits. I know it is available from an out-of-state distributor, but I'm strongly against purchasing via the US. Snail... The IC is used in the "Bug Detector" project in the June 1989 issue of Radio Electronics. According to the author (L. K. Ross), the chips "have 50-ohm input and output impedances from DC to 2000 MHz. The gain is 20 dB through 500 MHz, dropping to 11 dB at 2000 MHz." So, can anyone please name an Los Angeles area supplier of these chips? Keep in mind that I'm not interested in buying quantity. Only two (2). ---- Now, to the other half of my question (the message is "na" distributed after all...) One of you nice guys with them wonderful data books can find me a substitute for the MAR6? Possibly something that's easily available, (idealy from Radio-Snack stores).. Should be an exact match, or VERY, VERY close... (this is a 4-pin IC, by the way).
