Guidebooks list the locations, while local tourist offices or a phone call are the best source for finding out the times of tours. Tours in French are frequent, in German less so, and in English very infrequent (perhaps just once or twice a day). The fortifications are well worth seeing if you are in the area. They are impressive for their advanced technology as well as their sheer scale. They are also a sobering reminder (if I can slip a little political content past the moderator :-) ) that high technology is no substitute for an intelligent strategy.
