(please?) I am trying to access the archives on grape.ecs.clarkson.edu. I can connect via ftp and send my username and password (I am using "anonymous" and "guest"). After that, I get the following: 220 Get 00readme for more information 220-If you're having trouble logging in, yor FTP client doesn't understand these ftp> I type in a command, like "ls", and get: 220-continuation lines. You can retrieve a working version from 220-uunet.uu.net:/networking/ftp.tar.Z 220 Get 00readme for new user information. I am then no longer logged in. I connnected to uunet.uu.net via ftp and copied /networking/ftp.tar.Z and /networking/ftpd.tar.Z. However, I could not uncompress these files -- uncompress hangs after writing about 32 K on both. They seem to be parts of a C program and a makefile, presumably an FTP client program. Still I can't get the whole thing. I also could not find 00readme on uunet.uu.net; I presume this is a grape.ecs.clarkson.edu file. So ... what I am I doing wrong? Just dumb, maybe? Can somebody help? Please send e-mail. Thanks! >>>terry<<< Terry McKiernan terry@math.ucla.edu
