I just acquired a Hayes 2400 smartmodem, and I want to write communication programs. With my old Hayes 1200 internal smartmodem, I could program it just by writing to certain ports in my PC. My new modem is attached via an RS232 line, and I figure I can't program it via those ports anymore. Is the only way to program it by sending those character codes (e.g. "ATS11=100")? Any other programming tips? Thanks. Dave Sims dsims@ctt.bellcore.com
