No woman who has just escaped a violent domestic environment is going to make a rational, logical phone call like that. The counselor can be relied upon to behave rationally, but not the victim. We all make the mistake of assuming that people will always do what they should do, but this is like saying that drunk driving should go away simply because drunk driving is wrong.
