Hp talks to the Italian network backbone site via a dialup uucp link; I configured sendmail.cf in such a way an address as: user@host.domain is routed, via uucp, to the backbone. The mail is correctly delivered to the backbone site BUT each user receives back his/her mail with: ----- Transcription of session follows ------ 554 No ! in UUCP! (paola@hp.UNIMI.IT) ----- Unsent message follows ----- etc. etc. How could I avoid this annoying thing? On my old Vax 4.3BSD with a similar sendmail.cf all works really fine and the user does not receive back his/her mail. The only notification of the use of the syntax user@host.domain instead of host.d!user is in /usr/spool/mqueue/syslog. Ciao.
