The NIC is now offering two new host tables for your convenience:

NETINFO:HOSTS.TXT-Z
  A Unix (4.3BSD) "compress"ed file of HOSTS.TXT

NETINFO:MIL-HOSTS.TXT
  Just the MILNET hosts of HOSTS.TXT

Both files will have the same generation number as HOSTS.TXT.
The files are available via FTP or the HOSTNAME server on port 101.
When using FTP, be sure to specify "tenex" mode when requesting
the HOSTS.TXT-Z file.  The HOSTNAME server has two additional
commands for retreiving the new files:  ALL-Z and ALL-MIL.
