Keywords: ka9q xt termtype Message-ID: <22224@louie.udel.EDU> Date: 22 Aug 89 23:16:49 GMT Reply-To: cayz@udel.EDU (James Cayz) Distribution: usa Organization: University of Delaware Lines: 25 Hi, I recently downloaded the newest version of KA9Q from simtel20, and am having a _real_hard_time_ getting Unix to understand what kind of terminal I am on... Seems that ansi, vt100, vt52, vt102 all come close (ie, clear the screen OK), but have a variety of problems in vi..... Most common is the cursor seems a bit confused as to where it is (sometimes it is 1 line up, 1 col left, or both), or a scroll backwards results in a lot of text being scrambled on the top line, and the other 23 lines not changing..... I have spent the last few hours trying to write a termcap, but having no idea what the specs are, I've been tearing my hair out.... I am running the 890421.1 version of KA9Q. DOS3.3, with standard ansi.sys loaded. Standard IBM PC XT, with std IBM mono card & monitor..... If anyone has a good termcap for this, can you mail me a copy???? Thanx mucho for all of your help, in advance!
