I've seen this behavior in lots of programs, always when there's insufficient chip ram to render the menu. It's probably just Intuition's way of handling low memory situations. (If there's not enough chip ram to render the menu, there sure isn't enough to put up a warning requester!) Closing or shrinking some windows usually cures this problem for me. But I don't have Dpaint III. Maybe the problem is that it's too much of a chip ram hog... -- Eric Kennedy ejkst@cisunx.UUCP
