Message-ID: <22974@louie.udel.EDU> Date: 31 Aug 89 21:58:17 GMT Sender: mmdf@udel.EDU Lines: 28 Hi, This is a question for anyone who has or is familiar with the Xetec hard drive system on an A500 with 1.3 rom. When I first installed this system on my father's A500, he just had 1.2 installed in the system, no-problem. But he wanted autoboot and ordered the new rom. I installed the new rom, turned the system on - nothing - as I sit there reading the manual(kinda worried) the computer started booting. The problem is from the time you reset the computer to the time its starts to boot up is from 40 to 45 seconds!! BTW this is the Quantum 40s drive. I know there was problems with some drives not spinning up fast enough, but 45 seconds!! Other than this the system works great....has anyone else had this problem? BTW this system get over 400K reads with 32k buffers using diskperf3 in floppy mode. Thanks, Mike +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | INET : HARRISME%MEVX01%dupont.com@relay.cs.net | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+
