LOADRUNNER VIRUS Summary: I checked the disinfector out Message-ID: <803@madnix.UUCP> Date: 29 Aug 89 05:26:54 GMT References: <408*delaneyg@wnre.aecl.cdn> Reply-To: jason@madnix.UUCP (Jason Blochowiak) Organization: ARP Software, Madison, WI Lines: 16 I was rather apprehensive about using a disinfector without source from someone I hadn't heard of, so I disassembled the disinfector & took a look - aside from the replacement boot code (which I didn't look at much), it looks like it's clean. Does anyone know why the authors didn't distribute the source? They obviously anticipated disassembly (there was a message that read "Why are you looking here? This is only empty space." embedded in the code), so why not just make everyone a little bit more comfortable and give the source with the thing... The program itself isn't any big deal, and the disinfection method is obvious from the code. Guess I'm just as confused as ever - oh, well. -- --------8<------------------------------------------------------------8<-------- jason@madnix.UUCP "I am opposed 180 degrees" - George Bush, master mixer of metaphors.
