Moral of the story? Don't condemn before you do some detective )work. Wasn't I just reading about how multi-tasking is unecessary, and even if it were necessary, it isn't useful unless there is an MMU? I don't think the problem here was lack of MMU, but the presence (and proliferation) of "desk accessory" psuedo-tasks. Multitasking is perhaps a little nicer than some might think.
