Firstly I don't get these groups downstream here, so reply via mail... I'm trying too hook up a 20mb hard drive for a co-worker, who has a very old IBM PC (real IBM, with built-in BASIC). Basically it had two full height 360K floppy drives, I removed one, removed a serial board and put a XT-GEN disk controller in it's place. The 20MB 1/2 height Miniscribe 3425 is put where drive B: would have been. I hooked up the cables (how I think they are supposed to be) and went at it... Booted MSDOS, ran DEBUG and typed: -g=c800:5 At that time it ran the firmware low-level routine. I entered 3:1 interleave, and then said I was dynamically formatting the drive. I then entered the cylinders (which I forget right now), the heads, and padded the rest of the values which I didn't know. Each and every time I tried this I got: Error - Completion code 01 Insert DOS disk in drive A: Press any key to continue Help! Help!
