  That seems to be the case. I ran into the same problem on a directory
  manipulator program I wrote. Since there is no directory entry for the
  root, the stat() function won't work under Turbo C 2.0. This has been the
  case for many people, and one called Borland Tech Support. Tech Support
  said basically the same thing, only not as well, they gave a run-around.
