I am an electronic engineering student at Cal Poly SLO and for my
senior project, I designed a voice digitizer for the IBM PC/XT/AT.
It includes a telephone interface and functions as a telephone
answering machine.  I have won a couple of awards for it and it
turned out so well, that I've built a bunch of copies of it and am
marketing them this summer for $199 as the DigiPhone.
 
The DigiPhone is a telephone answering system with three major
modes of operation - The Personal Answering Machine, The Voice Mail
Card, and the PhoneBook Dialer.  The DigiPhone records voice at 8
Khz, 8 bit resolution, has support for saving messages to an
external tape recorder, has connections for a microphone and a
speaker, includes full-featured pull down menued software written
in TurboC v1.5 with source available, and occupies a selectable
port address for compatibility with all system configurations.
 
The DigiPhone has been operating on Cygnus X-1 BBS since April,
1989 and takes control of a call if touch-tone "0" is pressed
within the first five seconds of the call (otherwise, the modem
