I've been dealing with this problem for a few years, and finally decided to send out a request for help. I've got an AT clone that has vga, 40 meg h.d., blah blah blah... The main thing that I was interested in was the Intel AboveBoard with 512K. I installed it and figured that I'd be able to run my two main obligatory pieces of software that make up my job objective: Excel and a 3270 emulator. I start up the 3270 emulator (Extra! by Attatchmate w/the 3270 board) and try to start up excel (with the run-time version of windows accompanying it) to no avail! Excel claims that the 350+Kbytes available isn't enough to start up the spreadsheet environment. I expected to be able to run both the emulator *and* excel since I'm constantly switching between them...but noooooo! With Extra!, you can just use the cntl-alt-space_bar sequence to switch between any of four 3270 windows and the pc. Now I must kill Extra! and start up excel, then when I'm done, start Extra! back up. What a hassel! Any help would be appreciated...MicroSoft tech help has been no help at all.
