I am looking for any information on accessing the IBM PC floppy disk directly. By directly I mean pointing the head to specific track & side and writing/reading information BYPASSING DOS. I know this task is possible on my Model IV using the OUT and INP commands. I am not extremely familiar with PC Assembler, but I believe OUT/INP exist in Basic and Turbo PASCAL. I hope I expressed myself clearly. Any help/comments are greatly appreciated. Also, since I rarely read this group, e-mail would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ------- +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Tony Marasco | UUCP: psuvax1!psuvm!trm900 | | Penn State University | BITNET: trm900@psuvm.BITNET | | Schuylkill Haven Highway | - or - | | Schuylkill Haven, PA 17976 | trm900%psuvm.psu.edu@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU | | "Questions are a burden for others.
