System: Mac Plus 2.5mb. multifinder. suitcase,quickkeys,pyro.

Here is exactly what I did:
make screen dump.
edit screen dump in macpaint.
paste resulting image into word4.0.
edit etc.
copy image to clipboard.
open macpaint and paste the image in.
*macpaint unexpectedly quits!*
I stupidly paste into smartscrap.
*smartscrap will not open anymore*

Does anyone know why Word corrupts the clipboard so badly that 2 apps DIE
when trying to read from it?

I can understand that Word isnt smart enough to allow consistent fonts
ids between my 2 machines, but cant they even do something as simple
as cut and paste properly?  I have never had this sort of bug in *any*
mac application!

PS. does anyone know how to restore a currupted smartscrap file?
