On bsd systems I would put this info in /etc/ttytype or /etc/ttys (4.2 or 4.3...). It seems like I need to put it in /etc/inittab but according to the getty man page there are a limited number of terminal types that are valid. There is a file called /etc/ttytype but I haven't been able find any mention of it in the man pages. g.
