I have my Preferences set up so that the screen will dim after five minutes. Also, as there is a window to outside behind where I sit, I have the screen brightness set fairly high. That is not a problem. The problem is this: After the screen is automatically dimmed, when I move the mouse the screen will undim, but only to about half of what I want. When I click on (not move) the scroll knob for screen brightness in the Preferences app, the screen will go to the correct brightness. What is going on? How do I fix it? While we're on the subject, how do you set things up so that the screen will dim automatically when nobody is logged in after a very short time? It does dim now, but it takes a long time. Incidentally, when the screen dims while nobody is logged in, it undims to a reasonable brightness. | Dan Zerkle home:(805) 968-4683 morning:961-2434 afternoon:687-0110 | | dz@cornu.ucsb.edu dz%cornu@ucsbuxa.bitnet ...ucbvax!hub!cornu!dz | | Snailmail: 6681 Berkshire Terrace #5, Isla Vista, CA 93117 | | Disclaimer: If it's wrong or stupid, pretend I didn't do it. |
